To whom it may concern,

I am writing to voice my support of the actions taken by ICANN against Verisign. While dubbed as a "service," Verisign's SiteFinder runs counter to the ideals upon which the Internet is based. Their continued insistence on the utility of SiteFinder demonstrates their unwillingness (or incapability) to acknowledge the many ill effects caused by SiteFinder.

While workarounds were developed (i.e. the bind fix), they are akin to trying to repair a broken bone with a band-aid. Routing fixes leave users at the mercy of their ISP's willingness to implement such measures. Should Verisign attempt to re-start their "service," I hope that ICANN will take every action to mitigate the problem (including the gradual move away from reliance upon Verisgn).

Sincerenly,
-Greg Wittel
