WHOIS studies are essential for fact-based policy development. Also, w/r/t the Privacy and Proxy Relay and Reveal study: Staff received no responses to its request-for-proposal. Staff is suggesting they can do internal research and a survey to determine possible vendors we can ask. I like Staff's plan, but I hope they can do it for less than the $80K they suggest. -- Steve DelBianco On 2/17/11 11:33 AM, "Zahid Jamil" <zahid@xxxxxxxxx <mailto:zahid@xxxxxxxxx> > wrote: Item 6: WHOIS studies (20 minutes) A new WHOIS studies report has been posted http://gnso.icann.org/issues/whois/whois-pp-relay-reveal-studies-report-11feb11-en.pdf. The Council must now decide which of the remaining 3 studies (Registrant Identification, Proxy and Privacy "abuse" and this Relay and Reveal study) staff should initiate.
