Extending .Com agreement with Verisign
I really don't get it: why is Icann even considering to extend this contract? The whole internet world that Verisign charges roughly four times as much for a .com domain as compared to what the price would be if it was put out for a public tender. The result is something lke $500 million profit per year for Verisign, being paid by the internet community. In my opinion, Icann should do everything they can to terminate this Verisign contract as quickly as possible, and certainly not extend it. Regards, Hennie Groot Lipman |
