Comments of the Government of Argentina - Release of Country and Territory Names within the .SOFTBANK, .ART and .CARAVAN TLDs

In relation with the proposed amendments to the .SOFTBANK, .ART and .CARAVAN 
Registry Agreements, which allow the registration of country and territory 
names currently reserved under Section 4 of Specification 5 of the Registry 
Agreement, the Government of Argentina wants to express concern about this 
proposed amendment.

Names of countries, geographic names, names of regions or communities related 
to any country or region must have the previous consent given by the 
corresponding relevant governmental authority.

The Government of Argentina believes that countries are the ones to decide the 
use and application of its name and that of towns and communities located 
within its territory.

Country and territory names, in every language, contained in the 
internationally recognized lists mentioned under Section 4 of Specification 5 
Registry agreement, should continue to be withheld from registration or 
allocated to Registry Operator at All Levels.
