Dear ICANN –

Many small business owners run their businesses out of their homes, and no
one wants their home addresses publicized so that anyone could knock on
their door (or worse) while their family is home. If law enforcement has
an issue with a website, a court order will get them the information they
need... There is no good reason to make it accessible to the general public.

I am an individual with PTSD who started an online business in 2012 to be a
productive member of society while maintaining the buffer I need to feel
safe. My business has a great reputation and is growing. I hope it will
become my main source of income in the near future. However, with growth
comes the risk that we garner the attention of scammers, hackers, or
worse. My ability to continue growing my business relies on that safety
buffer, which is now apparently in your hands.

There are many, many online business owners in the same situation as
myself: We are artists, craftsmen, and retailers who choose to operate
online because of that safety buffer. Should my information, such as my
home address and phone number, become public, I would be forced by anxiety
to close my business, as would many others. Nobody feels comfortable when
a stranger knocks on her door... Imagine if you'd had a horrible experience
such that simply the *thought *of that happening can ruin your day. It's
that important.

Please keep my personal information private. I and the many, many others
in similar situations will thank you, and our small businesses will
continue to help the economy.

Thank you,
Eleda
