I Oppose the .XXX Domain

Dear Members of the Board of ICANN:

I am writing to urge you to kill the proposal of the .XXX domain. In
addition to strong opposition from both sides of the argument, this new
domain would only increase the amount of pornography available on the Web,
easing accessibility to hard core pornography to minors and adults alike.

Pornography is a widespread, ever-growing crisis, polluting the minds of its
viewers and negatively changing attitudes towards women and children. Please
do NOT participate in the destruction of marriages, the abuse of children,
and the demise of our culture.  I personally know of a well-known
pastor/teacher who unfortunately linked onto pornography sites, ended up
setting up a meeting place with a young girl, and, then through a sting, was
caught and his career abruptly halted.  As you might expect, he is forced to
work in another field; I don't know whether his marriage survived or not,
but he and his wife have 5 children.  Within the past 6 months, I discovered
surfing pornography sites on the Internet contributed to the behavior of
another man in his 30s, who has been charged with serious crimes; he, too,
has lost work in his chosen field and ruined his life in other areas.

A more appropriate goal should be to STOP the distribution of this
destructive material by prosecuting those responsible for it, not to protect
pornography on the .XXX domain.  Won't you please be willing to get on board
to help STOP the spread of pornography on the web, rather than promote it
and cause lives and families to be ruined?

Again, please kill the proposal of the .XXX domain.
