Comment on March 2011 Meeting Dates

Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the proposed March 2011
Meeting dates in North America.

 

I would point out that the second and third weeks of March are the
traditional high school and grade school break known as "March Break" or
"Spring Break".  Certainly in Canada, most schools are closed, and
parents travel with their children.   More info can be found on

I point this out as a parent, but also the fact that about 50% of
Canadians tend to want to go somewhere to enjoy the winter, which would
make booking hotels in Canada more difficult. The other 50% of Canadians
want to flee somewhere warm, which will make destinations in the
Southern US and Caribbean more difficult to book for a conference.

 

In general, this can be a poor time of year to hold a meeting in NA.
