Dear ICANN board members,

My name is Julien Escario, I'm the director of a small company in
Switzerland. Our main activity is hosting and domain registration. We
currently maintain more than 200 domain names on dotCom and dotNet
registries with 300 associated hosting accounts.

If you, ICANN board members, sign the settlement of the pending
litigation with Verisign, fees for dotCom domain names will be increased
of 7% every years. In 10 years, the price for a dotCom domain name will
be doubled. Our policy actually offer a domain name for each hosting
account. With the new prices for domain registration and the prices of
hosting litteraly droping, we will not be able to keep this service as
the domain will then cost for 20% of the final price.

Why would you allow this ? The actual world tendency is to decrease the
price of domain name registration due to the increasing number of
domains. If this settlement is signed, domain names registrations will
slow down, especially for IDNs, which will never have has much success
as dotComs in those last 10 years.

The signature of this settlement is putting the whole Internet in danger
and is increasing the chance of the developpement of a parallel network,
without ICANN.

Nothing can justify the signature of this settlement, thanks in advance
to remember the interests of your partners, the registrars, the
resellers and the customers while taking this decision.

Sincerely,
Julien Escario
