The Internet-Telephony Addressing Board (ITAB) (www.i-tab.org) announced today that Mr. Greg Vaudreuil, of Lucent Technologies accepted a nomination to the ITAB Board of Directors.

Greg brings twelve years of experience developing IP standards in the IETF process including five years 1989-1993 as part of the IETF secretariat working under Vint Cerf at the Corporation for National Research Initiatives.  He has been developing Internet email and voicemail standards for ten years, including six with Octel Communications and Lucent Technologies since 1993.  He is the author, working group chairman, or a primary contributor to the MIME, ESMTP, DSN, VPIM, ENUM, and other Internet standards.

Greg’s recent Internet telephony projects include the EMA and TMIA wide-area voice-messaging initiatives.  These directory-enabled projects include numerous in-production voice-messaging service deployments and inter-vendor demonstrations and prototypes using ENUM service concepts leading directly to the current ENUM standards.  He is active within the ENUM, VPIM, and FAX working groups of the IETF.

He is currently a consulting member of technical staff (CMTS) providing message strategy and service architecture support for unified messaging and next generation voice mail platforms within Lucent’s Intelligent Network and Messaging Solutions division. Greg holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with a major concentration in Public Policy studies from Duke University.
