A simple path for IANA (Transmitting all energy through its 'pipes') to
maximize IANA's value:
1. Mission Statement. Suggestion: designed to not limit the flow of
electromagnetic energy through its pipes. (servers are electron/photon
pipelines.) Refine through market research, focused on consumer
interactivity trends, tastes.
2. Structure (design) Org, fin, admin, opn...(being built through global
meetings).
3.Populating. This involves sales & marketing approach to build value of
widespread distribution of mass membership based upon the openness of the
information flow, which will be unlimited.
4.Dividing labor (executing to the Mission's business plan). Build a structure
which is scalable to any size. This requires replicating a framework which
is similar in structure to the human brain's capacity to absorb info,
because the
more members, the more information that will be flowing in the future.
5.Navigating (insuring execution is linked to Mission target): scale up
with the participation of member organizations (like a VISA-Mastercard network).
6.Continuously Improving Alignment (self-explanatory): through member
feedback, increase the role, relevance, and tightly couple the information
to specific topics relevant to members.
At each step openness, inclusion, and transparency is critical. IANA
should be so strong in its framework, that it should allow any
and all parties, regardless of location, profit status, number of people to
join. It should be based upon the flow of information, an "information
association for individual people and individual companies or individual
associations."
The root servers are merely pipes for transmitting the flowing electrons
and photons.
