Oh, for heaven's sake.  I am in England right now, and although the
bombings are a big deal, by all evidence most transportation will be back
to normal by Saturday.

On the other hand, I strongly suggest that all travellers avoid the Los
Angeles International Airport, since that airport shares the same poorly
conceived and implemented TSA security as other US airports.  The long
lines at security points at LAX that often extend out onto the sidewalk
due to TSA understaffing have frequently been noted as obvious targets for
an attack.
