Trying to move forward with mapping old alac.icann.org stuff to the new
site, plus closing old sections of the alac.icann.org site--Here is a try at
edits to that http://www.alac.icann.org page. Some of the mapping on the
left menu can be pointed to the icannalac site.
I know this is a little hard to follow-- if you have a window open to
http://alac.icann.org and one to http://icannalac.org and take your time you
should be OK. :-)
Example changes for left menu:
<FIRST NEW THING ON LEFT: >Link to ICANNALAC.org site and on mouseover say:
"ICANNALAC.ORG is not part of www.icann.org and is not operated by ICANN.
It is run by members of the ALAC. Updated frequently, the site offers
current news, announcements, discussions, opportunities for input, and much
more." <Partly new language>

<All the RALO stuff-- some of it is way out of date but I do think it is
ICANN's responsibility to have a page for each one. Suggest ICANN also
provide links to each region's info on the icannalac.org site, pick them out
of this page:
http://icannalac.org/content/view/36/54/
Each region at icannalac.org has its own news area, calendar, and

On the right hand side of the page,

get rid of current issues, etc -- that's all done over at the new site
so just put this (most has already been thru Legal)
Then put this:
Welcome to ICANN's At-Large Advisory Committee's Official Site
ICANN's At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) is responsible for considering
and providing advice on the activities of the Internet Corporation for
Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), as they relate to the interests of
individual Internet users (the "At-Large" community). ICANN, as a private
sector, non-profit corporation with technical management responsibilities
for the Internet's domain name and address system, will rely on the ALAC and
its supporting infrastructure (At-Large groups all over the world) to
involve and represent in ICANN a broad set of individual user
interests.<This language currently on the ICANN site>
At this website you will find official documents about the Committee and its
members as well as information on At-Large Structures (ALS) and Regional
At-Large Organizations (RALO), in addition to other materials. <new
language>
Members of the ALAC have also created an additional website --
www.icannalac.org -- for the At-Large community. It is intended to help
inform and encourage a dialogue among members of ICANN's At-Large community
about domain name system issues that affect the world's Internet users.
At-Large community members are encouraged to register and share thoughts,
announcements, news and commentary relating to ICANN and the interests of
individual Internet users. (Note: this website is not part of www.icann.org
and is not operated by ICANN. It is run by members of the ALAC.) <This
language currently on the ICANN site>
Then leave the
"Participate in At Large" link except say it 6 times in all these languages:
French | Portuguese | Spanish | German (PDF) | Italian (PDF) and make the
links be right for each one.
<note link to als@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx in document>
Get rid of the Share your views section, since it's duplicated.
Please note that "En Español " doesn't go anywhere, 404
