[board-09georegionswg] Action Items From 5 May Geo Regions Review Working Group Meeting

Dear Working Group Members:;

Thank you all for a productive call today. Based on my notes, I have set forth 
below the action items that were agreed to during the call:

1.  Draft Charter Revisions:  Consistent with the discussions on the call, 
Staff will draft additional language to incorporate into the draft charter to 
address the Board's concerns about working group membership.  Staff will 
circulate a red-lined version of the document along with a draft letter from 
the Chair to the Board explaining the changes.  Responsible Party -  RobH

2.  Categorization:  The Chair and staff will identify categories and develop 
definitions for the functional uses of geographic regions within ICANN.  Those 
suggested draft categories and their definitions will be circulated to the 
entire working group by 10 May with feedback from working group members by 14 
May.  Responsible Parties -  DaveA, RobH, BartB

3.  Time Line:  The working group is quite comfortable that it will meet the 12 
June target for publishing its Initial Report.  The Chair and staff will 
produce a schedule for drafting and publishing the Initial Report when they 
circulate the categories on 10 May.  Responsible Parties -  DaveA, RobH, BartB

4.  Issues Consideration:  All working group members will consider the specific 
issues that they would like to have addressed in the Final Report of the 
Working Group.  Those issues will be identified and listed in the Initial 
Report to give the community an opportunity to review and comment on the 
proposed list.  The Chair has already provided a number of specific suggestions 
and examples on the working group's wiki workspace -

view the existing template on the wiki and suggest additional issues to add to 
the list via email or on the wiki prior to the next working group meeting.

5.  NRO Re-Invite:  The Staff will draft a letter from the Chair renewing the 
previous invitation to the NRO to participate in the working group.

6.  Next Meeting:  Staff will produce a new Doodle poll for the next working 
group meeting.  The tentative dates for the next meeting will be May 20, 21 or 
22 at 1200 or 1300 UTC.  After that meeting is scheduled a second poll will be 
created to schedule a meeting in early June to finalize the Initial Report.
