Dear Working Group Members

I hope you all had a productive time in San Francisco and that you are all now
fully recovered and re-energized.

San Francisco Public Meeting Report

Thanks to Olga, Carlton, Cheryl, Dave and Fahd for participating in the San
Francisco Public Meeting workshop. We had ten community attendees and
collected some really good input. The audiocast of the workshop is posted here
- http://audio.icann.org/meetings/siliconvalley2011/geo-regions-17mar11-en.mp3.
I hope to have a written transcript of the session provided to me in another
week or so and I will share it with all of you.

The education effort continued in San Francisco. Dave made presentations to the
ALAC Policy Committee and the AFRALO/AfriCANN groups at their joint meeting.
Both meetings produced productive community dialogue. Cheryl and Carlton
played excellent hosts and supporters during those meetings.

Potential Additional Step to Final Report Production Schedule

An interesting idea came up during the Thursday workshop that the WG may want
to consider formally adopting. Dave suggested that rather than producing a
complete Final Report prior to the Singapore meeting, that the actual document
should be a DRAFT Final Report that will be subject to community review
andcomment. After that intermediate step, then the Working Group can review
the community feedback and a Final Report can be produced for submission to the
ICANN Board.

Scheduling Next Meeting

I have set up a Doodle scheduling poll for you all to indicate your
availability for a meeting the week of April 11. Here is the link address for
the poll – http://www.doodle.com/ca5ukvrucc6a3agt.

Please complete the poll at your earliest convenience but no later than by the
end of the day this coming Friday, April 9. Over the weekend we’ll confirm and
announce the call day and time when the most WG members can be available.

In preparation for the next call, please take another look at the draft issues
matrix and suggest updates and changes based on any conversations or community
discussions you had in San Francisco. I have attached a copy of the latest
Version 2.1 of the document for your convenience.

Best regards,

Rob Hoggarth
