Dear Working Group Members;

Thanks to Dave and Cheryl for attending the Working Group call earlier today.
Gisella has circulated a link to the recording of the call
(http://audio.icann.org/gnso/gnso-geo-regions-20120524-en.mp3) and you’ll hear
that we made up for the limited attendance with a wide ranging discussion of
the community’s input on the draft Final Report. A call transcript should also
be posted soon.

The critical take-away from the meeting was the recommendation to proceed with
modifications to the Final Report. Dave and Cheryl discussed the idea of
producing a brief survey to collect the thoughts of the Working Group to see if
you could all reach a consensus on the general direction of how much to revise
the draft Final Report recommendations. It would be great to get your
perspectives on that idea.

It was also agreed that we should try to schedule an informal Working Group
gathering at the upcoming ICANN Public Meeting in Prague.

Over the next couple of weeks, Dave and I will collaborate on some materials
that address the survey concept and potential ideas for modifications to the
Final Report document. After the Prague Public Meeting schedule gets released,
I will prepare a Doodle Scheduling Poll to help you all identify some
prospective times for an informal face-to-face Working Group meeting.

In the meantime, after you’ve had an opportunity to listen to the recording,
please feel free to share any of your thoughts and impressions about the
meeting discussion or community feedback on the list. Any input will be most
welcomed.

Best regards,

Rob
