[board-09georegionswg] Update and Review Opportunity - Final Version of Geo Regions Review WG Final Report
Dear Working Group Members: Thanks to Dave, Cheryl and Carlton for participating in this week¹s Working Group call. The previously announced deadline for feedback on the draft Final Report document was at the end of this past Sunday, 9 June. The Tuesday call gave attendees an opportunity for some final comments on the draft document. In addition to discussing small modifications to the Final Report, the attendees agreed to a number of next/action steps: 1. Based on the call discussions, make final edits to the document and circulate a final version of the Final Report to the Working Group email list. Give until early next week for final comments. [RH Note] See both a clean and a red-line version of the Final Report of Geo Regions Rvw WG EN (FINAL-Prelim) attached to this email. Please provide any final comments by 23:59 UTC next Tuesday, 18 June. 2. Publish the Final Report via the ICANN.org website by the Durban document deadline 24 June 2013. [RH Note] - Unless there are substantive objections shared with the list by the end of next Tuesday, I will proceed with submission of the document for publication to the ICANN Web Admin team on 19 June. If there are objections, we will have time for further revisions by the 24 June deadline. 3. Secure translation of the Final Report in all 6 UN languages and publish them all on the ICANN.org website. [RH Note] The English version will be the first version posted. Translations will be posted as they are received from the ICANN Language Services Team. 4. There will be a Working Group workshop session scheduled for the ICANN Public Meeting in Durban to give the WG an opportunity to describe and explain the Final Report recommendations. Dave, Cheryl and Carlton also thought it would be helpful to have the Chair and other Working Group members available to the SO s and ACs during the first part of the SO/AC review and comment period to explain the recommendations. [RH Note] We are working with the ICANN Meetings Team to identify a workshop/session slot that works for most WG members probably late Wednesday or early Thursday of the meeting week. 5. The next step in the process will be to give all ICANN Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees an opportunity to provide formal comments on the recommendations. SOs and ACs will have a full 90 days after the conclusion of the ICANN Public Meeting in Durban to submit their comments to the WG Chair. WG members are asked to support their SOs and ACs in any discussions and to advise Dave if comments are expected from their organization and by when. [RH Note] I will support Dave in composing the note to the SO/AC community leaders to explain the comment opportunity process. The comment process outlined in the WG Charter is explained in Footnote 15 of the Final Report. Thank you all for staying with and contributing to this effort. Looking forward to seeing you in Durban in a few weeks. Best, Rob Attachment:
