Chief Executive Officer of .au Domain Administration Ltd (auDA), a non-profit
company that is the
independent governing body/manager of the Australian internet domain name space
(.au) and
the policy body governing the Domain Name Space (DNS) in Australia.
Instrumental in auDA becoming endorsed by the Australian Government as the
appropriate body
to become the manager of .au and responsible for negotiating the re-delegation
of .au to auDA
and for guiding the DNS in Australia through the transition from an unregulated
monopoly regime
to a new, regulated, fully competitive, price sensitive regime.
Responsibilities include:
Administration and management of the Australian self regulatory policy
body for .au and
its associated Second Level Domains such and com.au and org.au.
Management of the Board of Directors comprising mainly volunteers
elected to represent
various sectors of the internet community.
Liaison with standing technical committee to maintain and promote the
operational
stability and utility of .au and management of critical technical
functions including the
primary and secondary .au name servers and zone files for second level
domains.
Administration of the independent Advisory Panel policy framework for
the development
of policy within .au.
Management of relationships with and between the .au Registry and auDA
accredited
Registrars and Resellers and the public.
Development and administration of consumer safeguards and Code of
Practice for
domain name industry.
Liaison with the Federal Government of Australia and with other
national bodies and
stakeholders on issues relating to the development and administration
of domain name
systems in Australia.
Company Directors duties including budgets and cash flows, compliance
issues, staff
management and the drafting and issue of public documents and annual
reports.
Public Relations and Media.
Representing .au at an international level.
Global DNS
* Director of Asia Pacific Top Level Domain organisation for ccTLD
registries in the Asia
Pacific region.
* Member of apTLD Membership/Sponsorship committee.
* Member of apTLD ICANN relations committee.
* Member of apTLD Technical committee
* Chair of apTLD Meeting committee.
* Member of the ICANN ccNSO Assistance Group that negotiated with ICANN
Evolution and
Reform Committee leading to the establishment of the ccNSO.
* Member of and spokesperson for the ccNSO Launching Group which
solicited additional
ccTLD managers to join the ccNSO and established the schedule and
procedures for the
selection of the initial ccNSO Council.
* Member of the ICANN Budget Advisory Group
Corporate Law and Executive Management:
Acted as a corporate lawyer and advisor to companies in Asia, North America,
United Kingdom
and Europe and has held executive management positions and directorships in
private and public
companies in the U.K. and Australia. Experienced in:-
Dealing with financial markets and Stock Exchanges.
General Public and Private Company Director?s duties.
Corporations Law requirements.
National and international contract negotiations.
Public raisings by way of prospectus, rights issue and IPO.
Dealing with government and statutory bodies.
