Dear ICANN –

Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation
Issues
Policy document):

I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.

Additionally, if the purpose of this change is to prevent crime: if I were
running an illegal website, I surely wouldn't provide my real information
to WHOIS. As a result, the impact of this potential policy change reaches
only legitimate website owners. We've all seen what people on the Internet
are capable of doing to the lives of those they disagree with. Let's not
make it even easier to ruin or kill another human—directly or indirectly.

Private information should be kept private. Thank you.
