Both of these comments are consistent and agreeable to me. I look
forward to working with both of you towards those goals. Just a caution,
however, that progress has been frutstratingly slow, which is why an
exceptions procedure was started in the first place (as a temporary stop
gap)

There is a lot to commend finding the common denominator that will
allow
consumers and businesses operating in environments with stricter
privacy
legislation to co-exist with those operating in laissez-faire
environments such as the U.S. It shouldn't be difficult to raise the
bar
and find this point.
