RE: [gnso-dow123] DRAFT redline of recommendation 2
Dear all, Ahead of today's WHOIS call, here is a diagram we've put together to help the discussion. The diagram is embedded in the .doc but in case of problems I'm also attaching it as a .gif which can be opened using most image manipulation apps and also in any browser. Paul Verhoef will be on tonight's call, but John Jeffrey & Dan Halloran will not be able to make it. John has offered to take any legal questions we may have during/after the call and address them - if TF members think it would be useful - on our call next week. All the best, Maria -----Original Message----- From: owner-gnso-dow123@xxxxxxxxx [mailto:owner-gnso-dow123@xxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steven J. Metalitz IIPA Sent: Sunday, April 24, 2005 9:59 PM To: Tom Keller; gnso-dow123@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [gnso-dow123] DRAFT redline of recommendation 2 As requested, I have taken a shot at revising the recommendation on a procedure for handling asserted national law conflicts. Please see attached. I used as the source document the Word document attached to http://gnso.icann.org/mailing-lists/archives/dow1-2tf/msg00174.html, which I believe is identical to the November 30 PDF document cited in the agenda for Tuesday's call. This is based upon my review of the transcript of the March 15 conference call with ICANN staff. I was not able to participate in much of that call so I hope I have captured the sense of the discussion. Please don't consider this as my proposal, much less an IPC proposal, but rather an attempt to move the process forward reflecting the discussion with staff. I believe we decided on our last TF call that this draft should also be shared with the appropriate staff members so I ask Glen or Maria to forward it along as appropriate. Unfortunately, I will probably not be able to participate in the next call on Tuesday. I believe that Niklas Lagergren will be able to participate on behalf of IPC.
