[gnso-dow123] Concluding work on the preliminary report
Hi all: There were only two constituency participants on today's TF call, so I wanted to briefly recap a number of the conclusions that we came to. Next Monday (November 20) will be our last call before the publication of the preliminary report as well as our last meeting before Sao Paolo. It is my hope and intent that the TF will vote to publish the preliminary report and invite public comment on our next call. In order to complete work on the preliminary report, today we discussed any remaining open items in the preliminary report (along with actions to correct them). Here are the issues that we identified: 1) The report needs to include information on access to unpublished data. We had some discussion on this topic on our last call. I will write up a brief synopsis of the various options discussed and Maria will include that in the next draft of the report. We will conduct a straw poll on the next call to indicate relative levels of support for the various options. 2) The section on accuracy will be firmed up with the recommendations contained within the OPOC proposal. These recommendations seem compatible with both the OPOC and special circumstances proposal and seem to have general support within the TF. 3) The report currently contains a somewhat data version of the special circumstances proposal. Maria will update the proposal to include Steve's recent round of edits. *** If anyone is aware of any other open issues with the preliminary report, please bring them to my attention (and Maria's) as soon as possible, or it is likely that your issue will not be addressed prior to the publication of the report. *** Jordyn |
