This looks like a good list.  We may want to add some reassurances about
not asking Registrars to divulge any competitive information or "secret
sauce."  I don't see anything on the list that's too egregious, but it's
difficult to predict how others might respond.

Also:  Can we impose upon Staff to put this in the form of a doodle poll
or survey monkey thing?  It might simplify the distribution of the
questions and help us track responses.

here's the status report for the week. we're chugging right along.
here's the current state of our "questions to registrars" for you to
review.

What is the source of complaints you receive?
 Customers?
 Other Registrars?
Do you view the number of complaints as a significant burden/cost or a
rather minor issue?
 Not very significant
 Significant burden
 Extremely burdensome
Is there a trend (up, down, steady)?
Are you seeing the same players or are there new ones entering -- is
this proliferating?
Where are they coming from?
 An entity connected to ICANN? How?
 Registrar
 Reseller
 Other
 What country are they coming from?
 Canada
 US
 UK
 Other
What is the mechanism you use to govern your resellers to prevent FRNs?
 By contract?
 By limiting capability through the API?

Representative examples of notices

What "holes" do you see in the new RAA? Do you think it provides
sufficient mechanisms to address FRNs?
What do feel is an appropriate role for ICANN in addressing this issue?

please take a look at these before the call this Thursday (yes, there
*is* going to be a call on Thursday -- at our new time -- at 1930 UDT --
think of it as the FRN Holiday Party). i'm hopeful that we can wrap
these up this week and push them along to the Registrars over the
holidays.
