Subject: [gnso-ppsc-wg] Cross-Community Working Groups
Dear All,
In view of the recent increase in cross-community working groups, the question
was raised internally whether that type of working group is addressed in the
GNSO Working Group Guidelines. As it is not specifically covered in the current
version, the question is should it? From a staff perspective, we think it might
be helpful to include a paragraph along the following lines:
Cross-Community Working Groups
Cross-Community Working Groups may also use these Working Group Guidelines if
so
desired. It should be noted that as there currently does not exist a
cross-community policy development process, any recommendations that are
intended to form formal policy advice and/or policy recommendations to the
ICANN
Board will need to be adopted by each participating Supporting Organization or
Advisory Committee according to their respective rules and procedures to
constitute formal policy advice and/or policy recommendations as appropriate
under the ICANN by-laws.
We would be interested to hear the WG WT's view and hope there might be an
opportunity to discuss it at tomorrow's call.
With best regards,
Marika
