RE: [gnso-rap-dt] For review - final charter and programme for registration abuse policies workshop

Tuesday 17:30 - 19:00 is open for me, as far as I know.

If the workshop is held on Tuesday, that would allow the drafting team to
meet at some point later (maybe in the Thursday 7:00 a.m. slot?) to discuss
the workshop and the input provided there.

Marika asked about 60 days. If it is a check-in at 60 days to let Council
know what the WG has done to that point, that seems reasonable to me.
(Always good to inform as to progress, and have a date on our calendar.) If
the 60 days is to meet a specific milestone, like a draft of some sort, I do
not know if that is enough time.

All best,

--Greg

registration abuse policies workshop

Staff is trying to find the best time and venue to meet the needs of all
interested parties. Many members of the At-Large community are keenly
interested in attending a Registration Abuse Workshop, but it would
difficult for them to do so if it was scheduled in conflict with the
At-Large Summit closing session. After a close review of the schedule,
another alternative might be to have the workshop on Tuesday 3 March from
17.30 - 19.00. Would the group prefer this timeslot over the Monday morning
option?

Best regards,

Marika

Marika,

With regard to scheduling the workshop, are you saying that (a) ALAC staff
would prefer that we not have the workshop on Thursday morning, but that we
(the drafting team) could still decide to do so; or (b) ICANN staff has
eliminated the possibility of having the workshop on Thursday morning
because of the scheduling conflict raised by ALAC staff?

Thanks.

registration abuse policies workshop

Dear All,

Following our conference call last Friday, please find attached the updated
final version of the charter. There is one remaining issue and that is the
timeframe for the working group to report back to the GNSO Council. Would
60 days be reasonable? Please send your comments / suggestions to the list.
Once finalised, the charter will be submitted to the GNSO Council for
consideration. As agreed, staff will work on a proposed motion for the GNSO
Council that will be circulated in the coming days.

In addition, I have created a separate document on the registration abuse
policies workshop programme for review. On our call, we started discussing
possible speakers for the different topics who have been tentatively noted
in this draft. For those of you that were not able to participate in the
call, please feel free to share your ideas and suggestions with the group.

I spoke with the ALAC staff about the possibility of organising the
workshop on Thursday morning from 8.00 - 9.30 which would be parallel to
the ALAC summit closing ceremony. ALAC staff indicated that this would be a
major conflict as the issue of registration abuse is of great interest to
ALAC members. The only other viable alternative is Monday 2 February from
7.00 - 9.30, which is not ideal, but seems to be the only option at this
moment.

There will be no call coming Friday as staff is unavailable due to another
meeting. If it is not possible to finalise discussions on the charter and
motion on the list, we will need to schedule another call early next week
as the motion and charter need to be submitted to the GNSO at the latest by
12 February in order to be considered at their next meeting on 19 February.

With best regards,

Marika
