Patrick: a 'nit'. I think is it combinations of single letter, single digit
TLDS. etc. 

 

Thanks for the reference to RFC 1123. I'd suggest that be added to the 'can
you just confirm your perspective' email to Bellovin and McFadden. they can
then chose whether they want to respond on this topic.

I am updating the subgroup report, and wanted to capture our discussion from
yesterday on single letter/single digit combinations at the top level
(examples include .3f, .a1, .u7). RFC 1123 should remove the question on
ordering, so is our recommendation now something along the lines of
"Applications may be considered for single letter, single digit TLDs in
accordance with the new gTLD process."
