Fair point.
 
I am advising several firm clients that are considering whether to apply for a 
new gTLD.  Of those clients that have made a decision and communicated that 
decision to me, all have decided against doing so.

        Everyone can weigh in here, but it may be interesting to break down 
this group a little differently than we usually do (as seen below).  In order 
to understand everyone's true interests (as opposed to which group they 
participate in), it may be helpful to know which members of the WG are 
affiliated in some form or fashion with one or more TLD applications, whether 
that is as a registry front-end, registry back-end, DNS provider, consultant to 
a TLD applicant.  I notice a number of people listed as "non-contracted 
parties" and "individuals" would fall into this category.

         

        I don't mean this to sound like I am trying to question people's SOIs, 
I just think that the normal set of questions in an SOI request may not be 
sufficient for this group.  Since there are a lot of new faces, it would help 
me understand where people are coming from and I think it would help others as 
well.
