Milton,

As you may recall from the webinar before Seoul, Joe Sims asked me if
I thought a policy of not expanding VGRS's registry market share ought
apply also to VGRS as a back end operator. I responded that the policy
ought to apply to VGRS's ATLAS platform as well, and the policy goal
should not expand VGRS's back end operator (self and others) market share.

So we're not on the same page. I'm not opposed to incidentally
increase in VGRS's total (in a contracting, neutral or expanding
market) registration volume, but as long as competition policy exists
as the controlling issue, market share remains relevant.

>From your answer, minus the monkeys, I understand you to be making the
claim that none of market advantage (brand establishment) or market
share matters.

>From a "pure consumer perspective" the regime in place in 1985 worked
pretty good. Domain names were free. Do you really think we can reason
from where we are, to some place realizable, illuminated only by the
light of "pure consumer perspective"?

Eric
