RE: [gnso-vi-feb10] poll - Too early to ask these questions

Well I guess I may be the only one but I do not really see the harm in having
this poll. I think it could actually help.

The reasons not have the poll are is that it is too early, need to study the
long term implications, maybe do not understand and so on and so forth.

I think those are all valid points and do not discount them, but think that is
the feedback we could get from a poll. There is an area for comments, people
could write " I do not understand this proposal" , or other comments like " I
need more time", "I cannot keep up with the emails" or whatever their thoughts
are. We would be receiving feedback.

There have been many calls for more participation from the Working Group from
members who have remained silent thus far. I am a little surprised that the
first time our Chair tries to elicit some feedback from the Group in a
non-binding poll the responses are all negative.

Just my two cents

Yep , I ll fifth this motion. Please listen to / assess my proposal next

monday.

Jeff 's paragraph ...."in addition" ...... re vested interests ( dare I

say it ) is central to my proposal.

Central to all this is to get consensus ( what ever that means )

and " persuade /convince " the ICANN Board ( at

Brussels - ha ha ) that VI Proposal X , Y Z is /are the "best" overall ,

in terms of cost and benefits to old registries , new registries , small

ones large ones , end users , registrars- everybody involved in the value

chain.

One thing is certain is that the status quo /baseline ( default position)VI

cannot work / will not work in the new gTLD marketplace.

........ but there are some on here who disagree ... right ????

A secret poll perhaps - but in a couple of weeks time answering keys

questions that Berry

& Jannik have raised and I will also raise next week.

regards

Phil
