But why only Salop and Wright? Where's the plan to invite other (independent) 
economists with differing opinions or perspectives? If anything, Salop and 
Wright should be just one input into the overall analysis. Will Salop and 
Wright be prepared to address the key issue of potential harms, which they 
conceded were absent from their earlier analysis? Having been hired by ICANN 
staff to advocate for vertical integration (in my opinion) I don't consider 
them independent or neutral on this issue. If we're going to invite experts to 
help educate the VIWG, let's make sure it's well thought through and balanced.

I am surprised by these comments. We have had many discussions about the 
alleged economic effects of various market structures and policies we are 
debating. This is your chance to test specific proposals against the expertise 
of two economists with knowledge of competition law and policy. Make use of it. 
If you turn up your nose at this prospect, it raises questions....and not about 
them.
