Hi, David.
:-)
You are a little "ahead" of me. I have been concluding negations with
clients - as a private consultant, some of you will recognize that period,
and I've finalized all the details, just last week, with the final client.
WHEW. [never mind, that was a personal WHEW. IF you have even been a
consultant, you will recognize it. IF you are a corporation, you will
recognize that as the job performance discussion!!!! ]
So, yes, I'll be filing a more in depth statement of interest.
Your enthusiasm for ensuring statements from all the TF members is quite
supported by me. You may have seen my posting with that suggestion!
Regards,
Marilyn

This is a response to Marilyn's message regarding her candidacy for co-chair
or vice-chair of the Task Force. In preparation for our Wellington meeting,
I have prepared a statement of interest (which I am filing simultaneously
with this message). In order to prepare my statement, I reviewed other
statements on file at [
<http://gnso.icann.org/mailing-lists/archives/council/msg02186.html>
http://gnso.icann.org/mailing-lists/archives/council/msg02186.html].
I cannot support Marilyn's candidacy until she files a more meaningful
statement of interest. Every other councilor has identified specific clients
and interests represented. Marilyn's statement refers generally to
"
clients of my business are concerned about the security and
stability of the Internet, are registrants and users of the
Internet...."
I do not believe this is an adequate disclosure. Until Marilyn names her
clients and specific interests, I do not believe she is qualified to act as
co-chair or vice-chair of the Task Force.

Thanks, Ross, for the nomination of Jon Nevett. Speaking personally, I can
support Jon's candidacy.
I would be interested in serving as a co-chair, or vice chair. As a
councilor, and past TF chair, and member of existing TFs, I have significant
familiarity with TF processes, with the bylaws, and with procedures of the
Council, and could support Jon as chair.

In the interests of getting the ball rolling before we get to
Wellington, I'd like to nominate Jon Nevett of Network Solutions for
your consideration as the chair of this Task Force. Jon is extremely
active in our constituency and has been a catalyzing influence in a
leadership position on many issues since he joined the Registrar
Constituency.
