Dear Sir/Madam

I have a very small web design company.

A lady who was hoping to set up a very small side business selling Jewellery
asked us to register a domain for her called www.zestjewelleryireland.com
<http://www.zestjewelleryireland.com/>

We did a search and informed her that the domain was available.
Unfortunately we did not register it immediately. Very shortly afterwards we
noticed that it was taken or stolen by a company called MetaPredict using
what appears to amount to very illicit and unethical means.

Apparently they have the ability to find out what domains people are
searching for. Then they can jump in and register the domain quickly before
the person who was searching for the domain registers it.

See Blog for other people who have been affected
http://pocketseo.com/domains/7 <http://pocketseo.com/domains/7>

Unfortunately in our case we had told our client that we would register it
immediately and on the strength of that our client put the URL on the
Brochures and Business cards and distributed these to all their clients.

Now the situation is if our clients end client's type the URL into a web
browser a search engine type website comes up which contains everything got
to do with Jewellery including the website of the people further up the
food-chain where our client buys her Jewellery for resale. This enables her
clients to buy pass her and buy the Jewellery directly at better prices.

This is creating a situation where our client claims that they will be put
out of business within weeks and are looking at taking legal recourse
against ourselves.

What can be done to try to get MetaPredect to release this domain?

We would prefer to not contact them directly yet as they would appear top be
a dubious business.

Thank you for any advice and help.

Kevin.
