I think this is
an excellent idea.
Lets say my
current Email server is located at mail.elliottaviation.com and
mail.elliottaviation.net
I would prefer two
.mail extensions at: mail.elliottaviation.com.mail and
mail.elliottaviation.net.mail that would work well and be easily understood for
all domains.
I think the cost
to setup a .mail at $2,000 is expensive.
I would like to
see a different fee structure:
For domains
existing over 2 years with verifiable information $200.00
For domains
existing over 1 years with verifiable information $500.00
For domains
existing less than 6 months with verifiable information $1,000.00 with a
$1,000.00 bond that would be refunded after 1 year.
All renewals to
be no more than $100.00 annually.
Remember there
are a lot of small companies that a $2,000.00 charge would not be worth paying.
That means they would not adopt the .mail system and this entire idea would
fail because of a lack of critical mass.
Just my
thoughts. :
