Of course this is a good idea. it would allow people to filter or not filter their own internet usage. This isn't about government censorship. This is about regulating an industry in dire need sensible regulation. Parents would be able to restrict their children's internet access easier and at the same time allow the adult entertainment industry to target their clientele. Computers could be locked out from the new domain names to ease parents fear of on-line pornography and people who choose to access these sites could do so at their own will.

In my personal opinion this should be mandatory by law as long as these sites abide by existing laws governing child pornography and on- line predators. I do not endorse censorship or doing away with 1st. amendment freedoms, I simply want people to be able to access what they want and provide a reasonable level of security for parents and children. If this domain name proposal is only voluntary then it will never work. People will not comply with restrictions without being forced to.

Let's face the reality. If your putting internet porn out there for anybody to grab you don't care who accesses it as long as they can pay the fee. If we have them put it out openly but still within a specific domain name we can take the responsibility of controlling access in our own homes much easier than in the past and they can still access legitimate customers. Internet porn providers would be able to display a level of social responsibility and actually add to general publics opinion of their legitimacy.

Thank you,
Kirk Brooks
