[alac] Re: ICANN RGP comment
thanks for your note. I wish we *did* have a lot of influence! But we are discussing this very issue and I am cc'ing your comments to the committee. MEanwhile, may we put you on our mailing list so that we can keep you informed and so that when we figure out the membership structure you can be invited to join? I register our domains through AITDomains.com and this winter we were caught with not having Internet access and a domain coming up for renewal. We were a few days, 4 to be exact to late in being able to "renew" the name. Upon inquiry as to what could be done about it I was told we could bring it back from "redemption" period for a fee of $150, that the "agency in charge" charge quite a bit and of course they had to get their charge in, they said. Anyway...if you are the original owning owner of a Domain name and you miss this your renewal period and slip into this redemption period, there needs to be a better way to "redeem" it. It only costs between $7.50 and $35 a year to register it. I just wanted to express this to you since you sit on the "at large committee" and have influence on new processes. Not having Internet access was a process not in our control at the time, so I am the big loser here, twice now. Thanks for listening. Kay Hayes
