Bret,

Thanks for your further efforts. I am using Skype these days
and it mostly work (sometimes, cut or noisy, but as bad as many
mobiles are).

Denise, could you name those countries where Skype or other similar
ones are illegal? How many in practice?

I think even we have some barriers remain, we better try, it is
better than nothing, in my opinion.

AND, if we are to host public voice conf meeting (which is very
unfamiliar in Japan and many Asian countries in general I believe)
I would suggest to do a technical rehearsal say one week in advance.
In my experience we usually face technical glitches which makes
very bad image/damage especially for novice people or those
who are very critical/skeptical people.

thanks,

izumi

With Skype and Yahoo! Messenger's voice chat, I think we can cobble something together that would allow access over IP. I'll look into this.

*Dear Bret,*

*Such a public meeting in advance of Mar del Plata would constitute yet a further engagement with the At large communities and I would favour this. My only concern though is that some of the people in less connected areas may not find it easy to join in..*

*Best*
