My Respone to FREE SPEECH and dot sex |

What we are doing right now is FREE SPEECH
protected by the 1st ammendment, which is part of the Bill of Rights (1st 10 ammendments)....I
believe you know a little bit about this from reading your response...very eloquent...however
it's sounds like a "knee jerk" reaction, which is how people who are involved so
closely with something, perceive things (in your case FREE SPEECH)...For instance...I
bet you believe that whatever you say or write is protected by the constitution....NO
sir...a good example is to say things on an airline or in a public movie theatre...I
also believe you think we live in a Democratic Society....No sir...We live in a Republic...our
forefathers basically set up a system where we allow others to speak on our behalf
when it comes to forming laws....So I do agree with you that people should not make
value judgements against others based on their beliefs, however one must also respect
the freedom to protect children..in this case we are in a sense putting a "password---the
.sex gtld on websites)..Now the question is CAN you make an operator who has invested
a lot of money in the .com name move over to the .sex domain (if this happens)...I
am not sure, however what I was trying to suggest is set up a FREE SPEECH protected
zone...much like porn shops are able to do in the comercial zones in the city...By
the way (believe it not) I would abhore someone trying to make these smut dealers
move from their commerical spots in some midwest cities (US)...IN a sense some patrons
are saying that they (the porn palaces) are fit for even the commercials spots....Now
that is limiting someone free speech in a protected zone... One thing that I teach
people is first when you get an agrument (DON't Label it)...Labeling is the greatest
downfall known to mankind...Think about it...we are labeling people..mental or deviants...or
retarded...or FREE SPEECH violaters....The words themselves limit the discussion...
So the next time you debate FREE SPEECH tell your opponent to quit labeling things
and get to the point...In your case you believe you thought by putting smut on the
.sex websites that I am advocating censorship....If I were saying that a bank which
children can have access to (legally) should have the .bank and nothing else..then
we have a problem...however a business that is deemed illegal (for children under
18/21 in some areas and in other countries--no laws) then we aren't talking about
hindering (the label) FREE SPEECH...we are talking about protecting a particular
group (no value judgement--just the facts)...refer back to my "free speech on the
airplane and movie theatre" example earlier...Think about this as you definitely
have your heart in the right place (I would probably agree with you on a lot of issues)
however just remember to never label something...as doing so even when in the name
of FREE SPEECH (you could be wrong which is even more corrosive then those who wish
to actually take it away from us)...
