You probably received errors last week, and I suspect you'll receive server unavailability
notices for the next 2 weeks on occasion, as we're upgrading in-place. I do know
that an installation of a new database server caused ODBC errors for the better part
of a day last week.We chose to spend the time and money now to do the production
upgrade *BEFORE* ICANN meets next month, in an effort to show the resources and infrastructure
necessary to run a registry.
I could apologize for any inconvenience (and will
do so), but I think doing the upgrades now is preferable to doing it after we're
in the root servers. If you disagree, feel free to drop me some email with your suggestions.
