Subject: Why do I register a trademark? To make profit? Why do I register a domain name? To make profit?

What about people who register A TRADEMARK in order TO SELL IT AT A HIGHER VALUE LATER ON?

ARE THEY TRADEMARKSQUATTERS, who should loose their trademark to the domain name owners?!

The two things are obviously not compatible, because if you create new gtlds according to trademark usus, they simply aren't interesting anymore to anybody.

I therefore respectfully ask ICANN to keep those things apart and clearly state, that a trademarkowner has no authomatic right to any domain name AND VICE VERSA. The two things have nothing in common.

Why didn't Julia Roberts claim for JuliaRoberts.net or for JuliaRoberts.famous.us ? Simply because there wouldn't have been any immediate profit then.

This is not reason enough to be allowed to exercise power over other people.
You should therefore openly separate trademarks and domain names -  forever.

The contents of a website can be sued according to existing laws.
Nothing more is needed. Someone will always take a profit from something, but this something should not be the misinterpretation of a law.

Thank you! I hope you will discuss this matter.
