I support this proposal.  There are many times that I wished US elections used this procedure, so that I could rank my choices.  There are certain individuals that I NEVER want to see in a position of power. With IRV, I could rank my choices, ensuring that at least someone I could tolerate would be more likely to be elected, while not giving up my ability to vote first for the person I would most like to see in the position.
