The real decisions aren't being made on this board. I believe this board is
taking Sir Winston Churchhill's infamous comment to heart:"The best argument against
democracy is a five minute talk with the average voter."
I don't believe, at this
point, that any of the members will really be "at large" - they will reflect the
desires of the existing constituencies on the current ICANN board.. especially on
the North American seat, where getting 10% of the membership to even vote, much less
nominate, will be a major accomplishment. The smaller regions have a chance,
but not a great one.
