1. Don't ask if they would would endorse developing a working registry as proof of
concept.2. Don't even think about applying for a registry unless you are partnered
with another registry.
3. Don't suggest to ICANN that your registry should be profitable
(otherwise it will be obvious that you have no partners).
4. Don't reduce your
ideas to practice.
On the contrary, I would consider waiting it out. Meet
with Mr Stubbs. Make him think that the .kids registry is his idea then tell
him that .Kids Domain, Inc is well qualified to run "his" .kids registry and that
you'd like to partner with him. He'll probably let you do all the work because
he's so busy with ICANN; you can give him a fat check for being a nice guy and providing
valuable consultation. Network Solutions might even offer to buy you out. It's a
win/win idea I tell ya.
