This would be a bad idea for 2 reasons: 1) Adding only one gTLD would create a new monopoly similar in scope to Network Solutions. Whoever owned this new registry the one TLD would become an overnight billionare. 2) The purpose of the test-bed is to see the effect that multiple names would have on the DNS, the public, and the Internet as a whole. Adding only one would not give us the data we need to fully evaluate the effects of possibly adding hundreds of new names in the future
