Verisign shouldn’t be able to use the free
market innovation defense because they alone have power to innovate across the
entire internet without entering into any contract or service relationship with
either the domain name owner, or user of the Internet. Verisign doesn’t
own the Internet. If it wants to be a service provider, fine, please give
up the monopoly on registry services and play on a level playing field with the
rest of us.
