VeriSign's enactment of the wildcard service, without any public comment, displays their inability to act in the public's good. VeriSign's wildcard service disable many spam filtering services when spam is has reached critical proportions.

VeriSign should be blocked from instantiating the wildcard service and there should be serious scrutiny of VeriSign's role in DNS. ICANN should act to remove VeriSign's roles in management of internet services if the wildcard service is an example of the trust that we can put in VeriSign.
