Dear colleagues,

Have you come across LINGOs (http://www.lingos.org/) ?

Eric Berg, director of LINGOs is planning a visit to the UK.
Provisionally, he is intending to spend a few days here during week
commencing 27 November. Would you and/or others from your organisation be
interested to meet him, to find out more about LINGOs and discuss
possibilities for collaboration?

LINGOs is a network of international NGOs with a common e-learning platform
and shared content. In addition to pooling courseware developed by member
agencies for mutual benefit, they have brokered access to IT training
courses and language learning programmes. LINGOs has good connections with
commercial e-learning providers, and has been able to arrange free or
reduced cost services to agencies developing bespoke e-learning content.

LINGOs serves as a networking forum for NGO learning & development
professionals as well as facilitating partnerships between NGOs and
commercial vendors. The ECB project team currently uses an online
communications tool provided by LINGOs through one of its partnerships, to
facilitate sharing of documents and information between participants during
conference calls. LINGOs has also arranged for NGO field staff to be
matched with online coaches for support to develop skills such as advanced
use of Excel spreadsheets. Current members of LINGOs include CARE, CRS,
IRC, Mercy Corps, Save the Children USA and World Vision.

Please do contact Eric directly for more information or to arrange a
meeting (p.ericberg@xxxxxxxxxxx).

Best regards - Mark.
