It would be out of character for ICANN to worry about that. Who pays for domain tasting?




That was exactly my initial question.
Since I am in the panel for monetization, and since it looks like the advertisers are paying for the domain tasting, I was looking at some other elements that are relevant in financial terms and that will be charged to registrants, or users.


Another short comment on the footprint.
Suppose I am a law enforcement agency, acting within a clear mandate. I assume I would not like very much the idea to leave footprints when investigating on a case. Pretty much as if I had to alert the subscriber that I am tapping the phone.
Just to say that the matter implied some kind of filtering, and therefore some kind of infrastructure (=>cost) to support (reasonable) needs of all stakeholders.
