[board-09georegionswg] Geo Regions Review - Draft Final Report Ready For Translation
Dear WGGR Members; Attached please find the package of documents comprising the Draft WGGR Final Report that will be posted for community review and comment. The document package includes: * A final clean copy of the Draft WGGR Final Report; * A final red-lined copy of the Draft WGGR Final Report (to show the most recent edits); * A final copy of Appendix A; and * A final copy of Appendix B. Many thanks to all who provided feedback on the main draft document. Based on WG member input, you'll notice only only a few solid text changes - adding footnotes 1 and 12 and a re-write of para 52. The major substantive change from the previous version has been to extend the date of community feedback. That date was adjusted to October 20 for two reasons: 1. Consistent with the working group's practice, the draft package will be produced in all 6 UN languages. It will probably take a couple of weeks for the document translation to be completed and posted and we want to give the community as much comment time as possible leading up to the Dakar meeting. 2. Since this public comment forum will be just an opportunity to comment on the draft of the Final Report, we can run the comments right up until the Dakar meeting, have a community workshop and some community (SO and AC) meetings in Dakar and then subsequently finalize the "final" Final Report with the full WG after Dakar as previously planned. There will also be some flexibility to extend the forum through the dakar meeting if community members are really engaged in the discussion process. Dave has already been invited to make a presentation to the ccNSO Council next month in anticipation of the draft's release. I will advise you all when the translations are back and the comment forum is being opened so that you can all alert members of your communities to participate in the forum.
