Dear DNS Stability Panel members, dear ICANN board members, Ladies and
Gentlemen,
I want ask you to reevaluate the Bulgaria's application for Cyrillic ccTLD "бг"
, because there are formal reasons to this, very well and professional stated
by mr. George Todoroff in his comment here:
http://forum.icann.org/lists/fast-track-review-2010/msg00008.html .
I agree with his findings that "бг" Cyrillic ccTLD is in fact 50 % confusable
to existing Latin character ccTLD "br", according to Unicode Technical Standard
#39, (http://www.unicode.org/Public/security/revision-04/confusables.txt) and
so formally can comply with the DNS Stability evaluation criteria as in the
case of Russia's "рф".
Beside the formal reasons there also other informal and humane reasons. I can
understand that there are really bad people out there in the "wild" Internet
abusing the freedom and possibilities made available through Internet by using
phishing and SPAM to mislead people by making them focus on the fake sites and
possibly cause them damage as they steal their personal data or confidential
information or by making other criminal acts.
The well respected people in the panel should think also about the
possibilities which will open for all Bulgarian people with this "бг" ccTLD.
This new ccTLD will make the Bulgarian Internet space so much approachable for
everyone, that I believe this will be more beneficial for the whole Internet
community, not only for the Bulgarian Internet community. This would be an act
with the same meaning as when the Holy Church authorized the sermons to be in
native language, instead of only Latin language, not used and almost not
understood by any one.
Dear DNS Stability Panel and ICANN members, please reevaluate your decision and
enable the use of Internet to be more approachable from all in Bulgaria.
With best regards,
Nikolay Popov
