thank you for explaining what you mean by "denigrate".
This fits to a common understanding of "redundant".
Indeed I was wrongly reacting to the common definition of denigrate of  
"blacken or defame.
" (The word origin is from the Latin verb to blacken "nigrare").
I understand what you mean now.
