Hi Everyone,
We got some very nice input from the ccNSO in our meeting with them yesterday:
Debbie Monahan passed on a list of "minimum criteria" they have identified for
their transfer policy (please find email below).
I also spoke to Peter Vergote from dns.be who had shared that their registry
went from a model that was very secure, but not as user-friendly, to an easier
transfer policy using auth-codes.
Their registrar partners showed a significant increase in satisfaction with the
new policy and when I asked him whether he had since seen an increase in
hijacking complaints, his response was that he is not aware of that.
Independently from the ccNSO meeting yesterday, I had asked that same question
to Sabine Dolderer from DENIC (the .de has introduced a very simple transfer
process as well, other than nominet it is executed by the registrars for the
most part, so it should work for thin registries!). She also has not seen an
increase in abuse situations, and has also shared that her registrars are
really happy with the new process. I'm looking to my transfer team right now to
get them to describe it the way we have the process description from nominet.
This should be good input for the process subteam.
Let me know if you have questions!
Simonetta

Hi Simonetta
It was good to meet you this morning. As discussed, here are links to the .nz
policies that I referred to in the meeting this morning.
Our general guide to the change of registrant process, setting out the minimum
requirements, is at:
http://dnc.org.nz/content/changeofregistrant.html
The transfer to another registrar policy is at:
http://dnc.org.nz/content/tar.html
This covers both individual transfers and bulk transfer of domain names.
All .nz policies can be seen on the DNC website at http://dnc.org.nz/policies.
If you would like any further information, or have any questions about any
aspect of the policy, please let me know.
Regards
Debbie
